My experience working as copywriter

Thank you for still interested to read my blog. As for this post, I would like to share my experience working in advertising field although it was just for a short period. After finished my diploma in UiTM Lendu, Melaka, I started to hunt jobs right after I complete my final exam paper. I didn’t know which field in mass communication suits me.

So I decided to apply any job that related with masscomm. Few days after I applied jobs on the jobstreet website, I received call by Sendayu Tinggi Sdn Bhd company that offered me as advertising admin in their office. I went to the interview and it went well, so I got the position.

I worked at the company for about four months since I got the offer letter to pursue my study in advertising major in communication and media studies at UiTM Shah Alam, Selangor. It is actually a tough decisions to be made since I love doing my job there and the boss are so kind, they always teach me new things. Same goes with the staff and officemates, they are all very supportive and treat me right even I’m still a fresh graduate at that moment.

While being a copywriter, I used to handle the photo shoot of new model for the products and also I wrote copy and body copy for new posting on the product’s social media account. I gave ideas on how the theme for the photo shoot should look, I draft my idea for new posters and postings and work with the graphic designer to make it look how I imagined how it would be.

Other than that, I also experienced handling the company events when the company decides to do makeup workshop on different chosen states in Malaysia. I handled the events in Kuala Lumpur and Penang.It was a great experience since I have to book the event place which is ballroom at the hotel, I booked a place to stay for the crews and I traveled with the crews all the way from Selangor to Penang and the workshop succeed.

All that I can conclude after involving myself working in the advertising department are I feel myself belongs to this field and I have passion to learn more about advertising world.
